Titus Schmucker’s Amish ancestors have been part of the Wawasee and surrounding Indiana lake communities for generations. You could say he was born into the trade. His father took him to his first job site when he was only 6 years.  

After swinging a hammer and honing his craft for a decade in the family business, at 16 the desire for freedom to chase his own dreams was overwhelming.  As painful as it was, freedom called so he struck out on his own supporting himself as a subcontractor for one of the midwest’s largest commercial and residential roofing companies.  Since then he’s spent spring and summer roofing in Indian, Michigan, Ohio and throughout the South during winter months. The Indiana Lake region  will always be home for Titus. 

Most of us take for granted the simple ability to make your own decisions.
